I never planned to become a writer, nor did I ever have dogs growing up. Somehow, both became important parts of my life much later.
For more than two decades, my career revolved around leading international customer support organisations, solving problems, building teams, and travelling the world. Writing arrived much later, almost by accident, and quickly became something I couldn’t imagine life without.
My journey began in late 2023 after meeting a remarkable man in his eighties who had written a book about his own life. His story inspired me to ask a simple question:
What story do I have to tell?
The answer came in the form of our three-legged cat, Freddie.
I imagined the world through his eyes, and that idea became my first book, Freddie – A Life on Three Legs. Rather than waiting for someone else to believe in it, I chose to publish it myself. That decision opened a door I never expected to walk through.

Since then, writing has become a daily part of my life.
My debut novella, The First Rung, is a speculative mystery exploring identity, memory, resilience, and the choices that define us. Alongside longer fiction, I’ve developed a love for flash fiction and microfiction, where every word has to earn its place. Several of my shorter stories have been published online and recognised in writing competitions.
Although I was born in Finland, I write primarily in English. After spending more than twenty years living in Ireland, English became the language in which my stories naturally arrived. I’m now gradually translating my work into Swedish and Finnish, allowing those stories to find new readers.
I draw inspiration from ordinary moments, family, travel, and the people I’ve met throughout my life. Some stories begin with a single sentence overheard in passing; others grow from memories that have quietly waited years to be written.
When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me planning the next story, reading, travelling, or attempting to convince myself that I don’t need another notebook full of ideas.
